Prof. Šekib Sokolović, MD, PhD
Specialist in Internal Medicine, Subspecialist in Cardiology, and Subspecialist in Rheumatology
Member of the European Society of Cardiology (Fellow) and the World Heart Federation. He is also a member of the ESC working groups on heart failure, pulmonary circulation and right heart, myocarditis and pericarditis, coronary microcirculation, and a member of the European Microcirculation Society. He is the Honorary President of the Osteoporosis Society in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
European Certified Specialist in Hypertension since 2013 (the only certified specialist in Bosnia and Herzegovina). Among the top five most cited scientists across all scientific fields in 2023.
During his specialization, he completed training at the General Hospital in Vienna (AKH) - Department of Cardiology, the Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases Dedinje in Belgrade, and the University of California, Irvine (UCI). He possesses extensive knowledge of cardiac MRI, transesophageal echocardiography, and dobutamine stress testing.
